Not only do you come across lots of animal encounters with daily talks and animal feeds, but Marwell Zoo also has 5-adventure playgrounds, 140-acre grounds and gardens which make perfect picnic areas, road and rail trains to help you get around and cafes and gift shops to ensure you get your souvenir before you go home. Plus, it’s only a 20-minute drive back to The Winchester Royal Hotel!
Open daily from 10am and closing at 4pm – 6pm depending on the time of year, you’ll have plenty of time to explore! They do recommend allowing 4-5 hours for your visit so you can really enjoy and make the most of your day.
The Zoo is owned by Marwell Wildlife, an action oriented charity which is leading in conservation programmes. When you visit Marwell Zoo, you will be playing a part in supporting the conservation work they do both in the UK and in Africa. Their work ranges from habitat restoration in Marwell’s woodlands to wildlife monitoring of the Grevy’s zebra and elephants in East Africa.
