It is with great pleasure to announce that the winner of the Winchester Royal Hotel employee of the month for August is Slawomir Goscik.
Slawomir, who is the Chef de Partie in the award-winning kitchen team at the hotel, showed great leadership while the head chef was on holiday during the month. Also known as ‘Rocky’, he took on extra responsibility in ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen and dealt with the pressure of maintaining the high standards expected at the hotel.
Louis Rigney, General Manager at the Winchester Royal Hotel, selected ‘Rocky’ for the award citing him for ‘stepping up’ during the month in the absence of the head chef. He said: “It’s never easy in a kitchen when the head chef goes on holiday, but that’s when you need the rest of the team to step up. There’s no doubt that Rocky did that during August.
“As a hotel and restaurant, we never want to let our standards slip. It’s so important that any department, especially the kitchen, has a team that can be relied on. When called upon, Rocky didn’t let anybody down and fully deserves to be named as the employee of the month.”
