Slawomir ‘Rocky’ Goscik has been named as The Winchester Royal Hotel Employee of the Month for March.

As the Chef de Partie, Rocky has made a huge contribution in the kitchen during the month, stepping up to assist Head Chef, Krys Goscik, as well as maintaining his usual high standard of work.

On the award, which is voted for by fellow team members at the hotel, General Manager, Louis Rigney, praised not only Rocky’s attitude and work rate, but that of the whole kitchen team.

He said: “I’m really pleased that Rocky has been voted for this month. He’s a great person to have around and works really hard – not only on his job, but doing whatever is necessary. That’s the standard that’s been set by the entire team of late.”

The Garden Restaurant at The Winchester Royal Hotel was recently named third best restaurant in the whole of Hampshire in the Bookatable Diner Awards 2018; a survey of users using Michelin’s online booking engine, Bookatable.

Louis added: “It’s quite fitting that a member of the kitchen has won this award following our recent award from Bookatable.

“I feel that the kitchen team are working really well at the moment. The quality of food is imperative to a hotel and restaurant, so long may that continue.”
