The Winchester Royal Hotel will be hosting a coffee morning on Friday 28 September, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Each year, the cancer support charity, Macmillan, encourages venues across the country to take part and create the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Once again, The Winchester Royal Hotel will be participating to help raise money for this extremely worthwhile cause.
Hotel guests and local residents are welcome to join the team at the hotel with not only coffee, but tea and a selection of cakes available too. The hotel is asking for a donation of £1.50 per person – all of which will go directly to Macmillan.
Louis Rigney, General Manager of The Winchester Royal Hotel, said: “Macmillan have created something really special with their ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Mornings’ and it’s a privilege for our hotel to be taking part again.
“My staff and I look forward to welcoming as many as people as possible to the hotel lounge on Friday 28 September – whether they’re staying at the hotel, live locally or are just passing by.”
Last year’s coffee mornings alone raised more than £27 million nationally and took total donations since the first in 1990 to a figure in excess of £200 million. The Macmillan charity as a whole raised a record amount of £247.7 million in 2017 and aims to beat that again this year.
The Winchester Royal Hotel is located on St Peter Street in Winchester (SO23 8BS), parallel to the main High Street.
