The latest winner of The Winchester Royal Hotel’s Employee of the Month Award has been named as Rafal Slawinski.
Employed as a Chef de Partie, Rafal was described as a ‘great team player’ in going about his work in the kitchen during a busy month. He willingly helped with covering shifts, working extra hours at short notice and generally being a credit to the department.
General Manager, Louis Rigney, was full of praise when naming him as the winner of August’s Award. He said: “August is always a busy month in hotels and it puts pressure on all departments, but it’s great to see people like Rafal going above and beyond for the good of the hotel.
“Everyone worked hard during the summer months, but I felt Rafal deserved special praise for his brilliant work ethic and attitude. He goes about his work with no fuss or complaint and is great team player.”
Following a busy summer, which included the success of a summer menu, the kitchen team are busy again in their Autumn preparations. That’s already started with the return of the Sunday Lunch menu to the award-winning Garden Restaurant.
Louis added: “We’re really pleased to be bringing back our Sunday Lunches. They were very popular earlier in the year, but we’ve decided to move away from the carvery style and offer a more Traditional Sunday Roast.
“If the quality of the food at the hotel isn’t enough of a temptation, we’re also offering a free bottle of wine for a table of four, so families can enjoy a nice relaxing Sunday out without the hassle of washing up!”
