Marie Alden has been named as September’s winner of the Winchester Royal Hotel’s Employee of the Month.
One of the hotel’s longest serving members of staff, Marie works in Sales, but covers many other departments including Finance, Events and Marketing. During September, her consistent hard work didn’t go unnoticed in dealing with the high volume of Christmas enquiries while still carrying out her core duties.
Louis Rigney, General Manager of the Winchester Royal Hotel, was delighted to present Marie with the monthly award. He said: “During September, especially, we had a huge number of enquiries for our range of Christmas activities in which Marie handled and converted these enquires superbly. Some sickness in the department also increased her normal workload, but she just got on with it.
“Marie is one of those people that goes about her job with no fuss and always with a smile on her face. Nothing is too much effort and she’s a pleasure to have around.
“Her hard work and positive attitude is well noticed and appreciated by everyone at the hotel and it shows in the results. We are significantly up on Christmas bookings compared to this stage last year and Marie has played a big part in that.”
