Deputy Head Housekeeper, Flori Barbu, has been awarded the Winchester Royal Hotel’s Employee of the Month award for April.

Flori was the standout choice for the month as she ‘truly stepped up’ when Head Housekeeper, Margaret King, required some unforeseen time off work. There was no danger of the department’s usual high standards dropping with Flori working extra days and going above and beyond her usual duties.

Louis Rigney, General Manager of the Winchester Royal Hotel, was delighted with her attitude and work ethic during a difficult period for the Housekeeping team. He said: “Flori showed her true Winchester Royal colours last month in stepping up when we really needed her most.

“With her manager off work, it could have been easy for her to hide away from the extra responsibility, but that was never in her mind. The management team and I noticed what a great example she had set to everyone at the hotel – at such short notice and with no complaints.

“We’d like to thank Flori for being a real team player and not only supporting her colleagues, but ensuring our guests still received the high standards of cleanliness they’ve come to expect.”
