The Winchester Royal Hotel has landed its fourth consecutive TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award.
TripAdvisor is the world’s most popular travel review website and since 2011 have run their yearly Certificate of Excellence awards to honour hospitality businesses who deliver consistently great service.
Certificate of Excellence awards are given to approximately 10% of the businesses listed on TripAdvisor who have consistently achieved great reviews over the previous year. A minimum review criteria and a rating of at least four out of five are required to be eligible. Then an algorithm then takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of user reviews to allocate the winners.
Louis Rigney, General Manager of the Winchester Royal Hotel, was naturally delighted with the continued recognition. He said: “I’m obviously very pleased to have again received this award from TripAdvisor and we’ll proudly be displaying it online and around the hotel.
“Everyone knows how big a part TripAdvisor play in some guests’ decision making – on where to stay or eat – so having this stamp of approval can only further reassure guests that they can expect excellent standards when visiting us.
“We have also recently climbed up to third out of the 12 hotels in Winchester, so this is a timely success.”
The Winchester Royal Hotel has become familiar with receiving awards in recent years. Following the several years of success in the TripAdvisor awards, the hotel has also received successes in similar awards from Booking.com, Hotels.com, as well as seeing its Garden Restaurant being named as the best restaurant in Winchester and third best in Hampshire in 2018.
Louis concluded: “We’ve been making a bit of a habit of receiving awards like this and over a period of a few years now. That goes to show that we’re not resting on our laurels and are continuing to deliver excellent hospitality to our guests. The team here deserve a huge amount of credit for maintaining such high standards.”
