Everyone at the Winchester Royal Hotel would like to thank those who attended and donated at the hotel’s Macmillan Coffee Morning last week.

On Friday 27 September, the hotel took part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and raised £127.31 for the cancer support charity. Many happy guests visited the hotel lounge to enjoy a coffee, tea and a selection of delicious home-made cakes from staff.

Louis Rigney, General Manager of The Winchester Royal Hotel said: “We host a Macmillan Coffee Morning every year and it always proves popular with staff and guests. It’s always great to see the staff interacting with guests in a less formal way.

“Ultimately though, it’s about raising money. While £127 from us isn’t going to break the bank for Macmillan, it all adds up when they create such a national event as their ‘Biggest Coffee Morning’.”

The Macmillan charity as a whole raised more than £230 million in 2018, with just under £27million of that coming from their coffee mornings. Since the first coffee morning back in 1990, they have raised in excess of £200 million.
