To celebrate the Wimbledon tennis Championships this year, we’re offering free strawberries and cream when you buy a jug of Pimm’s at the Winchester Royal Hotel.
It’s one of England’s oldest and greatest cocktails, and quite frankly there’s not much that tops it on a summer’s day. Enjoyed al fresco in our secret garden makes the perfect combination.
Pimm’s is a drink that dates back to 1823 and was created by James Pimm in his London oyster bar owner called James Pimm. His initial recipe included gin and a secret number of herbs and liqueurs and was actual used to aid digestion…
However, the modern version is best served long with lemonade, a range of fruit and has become synonymous with the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, where more than 300,000 glasses are drunk each year!
Wimbledon starts on Monday 28th June with the final on Sunday 11th July, and will be shown live at the Winchester Royal Hotel. Our free Strawberries and Cream offer will run for the entirety of the Championships.
Each jug of Pimm’s costs £12 and will be served in our Garden Restaurant, Lounge and secret garden, weather permitting!
